  7. Document the accident by identifying the police officers by their name and badge number, obtain a copy of the police report, take photos from multiple angles, take down names of everyone involved, including passengers, speak with any witnesses and obtain their contact info.
  8. You may want to speak to your insurance company while on the scene and they can explain what needs to be done and help you through the process.
